Meet the team: Thomas van Beek

Please introduce yourself and tell us what you do within EAE Solutions.

My name is Thomas van Beek and working as a sales engineer at EAE Solutions.

At the beginning of this year, I moved to Breda which is a small city in the south of the Netherlands. In my role as a sales engineer, it is my job to provide our customers with the best possible sortation solution. This includes investigating what their needs and wants are and translating these into a fitting solution.

How did you first get acquainted with EAE Solutions?
My father and one of the owners, Erik van Holten, are golfing buddies. When I was almost finished with my studies, my father told Erik what I had studied, upon which I was invited for a cup of coffee to meet and get to know the company. From the first meeting, the feeling was good and this cup of coffee eventually resulted in my first real job after my graduation.

What is your biggest achievement in the last 3 months at EAE Solutions?
Given that I started working for EAE Solutions in September, I am still learning a lot both on technical aspects and what it means to have a full-time job compared to studying. In one of the first projects I worked on with a colleague, for a large parcel company in Europe, we developed a concept including several new and innovative components, which we presented to the customer. This was a great learning experience and I would say so far my biggest achievement.

Why, in your opinion, is EAE Solutions the best partner for customers?
With over 60 years of experience in automation and a strong software development team, our modular controls platform is suitable for any sortation and conveyor system. With various hardware partners, we also have the ability and capability to provide complete turnkey sortation solutions. However, in my opinion, our strength lies within our can-do attitude. We have a highly motivated team that does not shy away from challenges but rather welcomes them.

What do you love to do in your spare time?
In my spare time, I play field hockey in Eindhoven, love to travel, and spend time with friends and family.
