Oosterhout, September 2024 – EAE Solutions is proud to announce the launch of the EAE E-Cross / Slim Line, a narrow carrier sorter that represents a significant advancement in parcel sorting technology. It’s uniqueness lies in the utilisation of the (versatile) benefits of a narrow carrier sorter, while being packed with EAE’s latest developments including innovative sorter controls and stereo-camera technology.

Developed in collaboration with leading European Courier, Express, and Parcel (CEP) customers, the E-Cross / Slim Line addresses the industry’s growing demand for a versatile, efficient, and gentle handling sorting system that can accommodate parcels of all shapes and sizes.

Versatile parcel handling for a diverse parcel spectrum

The E-Cross / Slim Line is engineered with a narrow carrier design that allows it to handle a wide range of parcel sizes and shapes with unparalleled precision. From small, lightweight packages to large, irregularly shaped items, this innovative system ensures that each parcel is processed with care, maintaining high throughput without compromising on gentle handling. The small carrier pitch further enhances efficiency by minimising the space each parcel occupies on the sorter.

Innovative features for optimal performance

The EAE E-Cross / Slim Line can be equipped with many distinguishing technologies including innovative sorter controls and stereo-camera technology. EAE Solutions’ latest developments:

  • Intelligent Dynamic Discharge (IDD): This advanced feature utilises real-time 3D parcel dimension and position data collected by the Item Analysis System (IAS) stereo-camera. The IDD algorithm dynamically determines the best discharge trajectory for each parcel, whether it requires a gentle slide for fragile items or a high-speed discharge for lightweight polybags. The system even targets specific sections within each chute, maximising chute utilisation and increasing overall sorting capacity.
  • Dynamic Speed Control (DSC): EAE’s latest innovation, DSC optimises the speed of the sorter based on the current utilisation rate of the system and its upstream conveyors. This fully automatic adjustment ensures that each parcel is processed at the ideal speed, enhancing efficiency while maintaining sorting accuracy. By doing so, DSC not only improves gentle handling but also reduces wear and tear, lowers sound levels, and minimises energy consumption.
